Wow, no matter how many times I make an attempt to start blogging again, I never succeed. So, this time I won't make any promises or anything, but I would like to start writing here more often. It has been nearly a year since I last posted something here, so I supposed I am more or less just starting over.
As of right now my life consists of several little jobs that are barely getting me by (in fact, they haven't quite been getting me by, but I have loving and gracious parents who have been helping me out). My first job is working at Whitworth for Ben Brody and the chapel doing, well, whatever they ask me to! I have been working on worship services for the Whitworth Institute of Ministry Conference coming up in a couple weeks, planning and preparing for the Youthworship conference that will be taking place in October, and many other random small tasks.
My second job is as a boy scout. Basically, I go and hang out with a group of kids at community centers and the boys and girls club a few times a week for an hour and get paid for it. We play games, we try to teach some kind of lesson (such as team work or respect), and we just have fun.
My last job is just beginning, but what I might be most excited about. I have been hired as the Worship Director at Knox Presbyterian Church. It is just a part-time thing, but I am so excited about it. This church has had a rough several years, and not that I plan to fix any of that, but I do hope to bring encouragement and leadership into this church. I am excited about the opportunity to try new things with them and figure out how to best serve this congregation. This summer will be an off and on sort of thing whenever they need me, but will begin more fully in September.
In the midst of all of these random little jobs, God is doing a lot in my life. Mostly, He is drawing me back to Himself and His Word and I am really excited about that. I am enjoying being excited about spending time in God's Word again and being encouraged by that. I am enjoying the freedom that Christ gives and the hope that He offers if I just trust Him (and I'm working on that trusting Him part).
Well, there it is. My puzzle of a summer with lots of little pieces that somehow all fit together. :-)
